- Make sure your contact information is up to date and accurate, including your e-mail address.
- MS Word document (“.doc” file type) is the best format for a résumé; if you don’t use Word, save your file as an “.rtf” (Rich Text Format) type, so it is compatible with Word.
- Clearly list your experience (job position, place of employment and location) and education (degree, school, major).
- When describing your current and past employment experiences, don’t just list things you had to do — describe your job (include any skills you learned, equipment or technology used, innovations/changes you participated in, etc.).
