Our Hourly Shaped Energy product lets you buy only the energy you want. Based on your forecasted load shape, we provide for a predetermined hourly schedule of energy at a fixed price.
This product is a highly effective procurement strategy for loads with:
- Low temperature sensitivity
- Little uncertainty in the number of customers
- Significant hourly variability
However, because the quantity is preset, an hourly shaped energy purchase does not accommodate volume fluctuations from the predetermined schedule, so you retain the risk of any mismatch between the preset schedule and your actual hourly load. As a result, an hourly shaped energy purchase can be a more cost-effective alternative to a full-requirements contract and you pay only for your forecasted energy needs.
